There is nothing like the feeling of getting that line just right, after fifty attempts. Or looking at the image you have created and believing you could step into it. Or finally understanding something, through the process of drawing it. Art-making is a complex balance of studied skill, deep observation, confidence and personal investment, and its richness expands into every aspect of life. I am most interested in working with middle and high school students because that is a moment in one’s life to make the choice to be challenged or not, to be vulnerable or not, and the value of what comes out of those decisions is immeasurable.
I have been a working artist for more than twenty years, and art continues to surprise me every day. That is what I want to share with my students, and what I hope they carry with them for years to come.
Now let’s get down to business! See below for more details.

“Thank you for another wonderful, magical year of art with Rory! She loves her time with you and I think it’s because you hold the space for her make big observations and come up with real plans for multi day projects. She always feels confident in herself after her sessions with you and more willing to tackle all of her wild ideas independently.”
